I hope your child does not like sleeping! My daughter gets about 5-6 hours of sleep per night. It seems the JP2 does not consider that their students participate in activities outside of school hours, as each child has over three to four hours of homework starting their junior year. As if that wasn't enough, each quarter their will be about two to three "Hell Weeks" where the teachers all assign tests, papers, and/or presentations on the same week, often all falling on either Thursday of Friday. Then the students get to catch up on the class time they missed taking tests by doing 6-8 hours of homework each weekend. Hope your kids don't enjoy hanging out with friends on Saturday or watching football on Sunday. They call this a prep school, but most of the work is simple busy work that really does not benefit the students at all.
Keep looking... not a great school by any measure.

I have had three children attend Pope John Paul and I can say without a doubt that it has prepared them for college and the staff there is among the best in the state and believe it or not they actually CARE about the students. From headmaster on down, some of the finest educators in the state.
