Always clean, workers always pleasant, and the exercise classes, swimming classes, indoor soccer league, and child care were great for my family.
This is a beautiful Y location, but a lot of the classes are geared to those who are at home during the day. The hours are also a bit inconvenient, and it would be great if they were open a little bit earlier and/or stay open later.
I walked out right then and there. I will never promote or recommend YMCA ever again.
I attended a party here as a member of a group. The pool facilities are sub-par and the staff was one of the most unfriendly, and quite frankly rude that I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with in many years. This is the only YMCA I have ever been to and if this serves as a representation of all other YMCAs I would never return again. The management needs to have a serious talk with their staff about the treatment of customers.
Because my wife and I recently had a baby. Our son isn't even a month old and when we went to this YMCA to get some walking in, they wouldn't let us in. They said we had to pay $50 for our newborn because he wasn't a Y member and he didn't have a Fitness Blue membership. Because he was too young, he wouldn't even be eligible for the YMCA's childcare services. We said we would just use one of the baby carriers and he would be with us the whole time. They (including the membership director) said we had to pay $50 for a baby who would be asleep with us the whole time. They would not let us in. When we asked what our options were, they told us to our face, you can either pay the $50 or cancel our Fitness Blue membership join the YMCA as a family.
First and foremost, I'm not a YMCA member, but I'm a part of Fitness Blue, which is a health membership offered to Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance members. Their arrangement is to allow you to use that membership at various fitness centers (YMCAs included) across their network without having to pay any dues to the gym themselves.
Good equipment in the gym and nice pools. Locker rooms are spacious.
