Them what happened they said a doctor would call me. Three weeks went by and nothing. When I called to have all of my other dogs records sent over I told them why I was promised another call. Nothing I haven’t heard a word. I don’t know what has happened to this place but sadly since doc layne seems to have semi retired the place has lost its way and it’s Purpose....all of that

Staff is very nice. I didn't have to wait. My puppy was taken straight to a room to be taken care of and she didn't even notice she received an injection.
I’ve been going to new shackle island veterinary clinic for years. My 17 month old LIMPING golden retriever puppy was misdiagnosed with a torn ligament and sent home with pain meds and anti inflammatory drugs. When we went back they saw something on an X-ray and said it was bone chip so until it healed all they could do was send him home with more pain meds and anti inflammatory meds. I took him to another vet who looked at new shackles X-rays and looked at Winslow and said he doesn’t have a torn ligament or a chipped bone. He had a bone eating fungus or cancer that was very advanced. When I called new shackle and told
I have known them since they opened their doors , I send them business everyday from my grooming business , my dog had puppies Wednesday , I took the pups in Friday and asked why my dogs vulva was swollen the size of a cantaloupe and I asked for an oxytocin shot like he's given my dogs in the past to make sure everything was out of her, the vet said "it was normal" I came back home and she delivered a dead puppy , asked to please speak to my vet ,they said he was with a client and would call when he was done , he never called!! I thought she was going to be fine after delivering that pup,the next day at 11:30 I was headed to the vet to check her, this was an emergency ,the receptionist told me to go to the emergency clinic because they were closing at noon, I was in shock that they turned my dog away when I was almost in their parking lot , my dog died on the way to the emergency clinic , what happened to Veterinarians who cared about animals ,who stayed late to help a dying animal ???

March 12th and 13th of this year was my scariest with my momma dog who was only 11 months old giving birth to her first set of puppies. She had stopped given birth after the 3rd puppy the night before, and I was freaking out badly. I called all around the morning of the 13th. I was tight on budget, and they worked with me to have her checked out. The vet and nurses were awesome. We took xrays, and she even had a puppy while in the vets office. The nurses helped me carry my momma dog back out to the car on the banket with her now 4 puppies. The vet recommended that she was just resting and that I just needed to let nature do it's thing. He didn't recommend giving her any meds. He only recommended xrays to see how many puppies she would have so I would know when she would be done. This was my first time ever having a dog and going through the birth of puppies with. Our xrays shows that momma was only resting because as soon as we got back home within an hour, she had 9 more puppies. I was so relieved and impressed with both the dr and the care of the nurses that I told my husband that this was our new vet. We didn't lose a single puppy. Btw, she was a big dog, lab-pit mixed. She never crawled or barked or anything towards any of the staff or dr either which was not like her so I knew we were in the right place.
